‘Roza aur Sehat’, Interactive Seminar on Ramzan

Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association and Heal India organised an interactive seminar on Ramzan titled, ‘Roza aur Sehat’. As the month of fasting started in the month of June, it is too difficult to bear the heat of 40 degres plus temperature. 15 hours fast is also very challenging for people who are having any health challenges. Various speakers covered the frequently asked questions on these topics

Dr Kausar Usman

Dr Kausar Uman, Head – Department of Geriatric Medicine, KGMU was the key speaker. He informed that people suffering from any diseases can fast subject to approval from his / her doctor. Most of the queries are from Diabetic patients, as the glucose level keeps on fluctuating. Such patients must focus on diet and avoid exercise during fast. In case of excessive vitals, its better to avoid fast.

Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli

Renowned scholar and cleric, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli enlightened the audience with the importance of Roza and Zakat. Ramzan is month of fasting and people also disburse the annual 2.5% on saving as charity. This is significant amount and when properly utilised can change the life of any poor. Religion is all together for Healthy Citizens !

Padam Shri Dr Mansoor Hasan

Chief Guest of the seminar, Padam Shri Dr Mansoor Hasan was of the opinion that every Religion teaches human being to be concious about himself and society. Charity begins at home and it follows the complete environment. Every human being has unique quality and religion is there to polish the same. Fast is to purify the body and soul !

Jawed Siddiqui

Jawed Siddiqui, Secy of AMUOBA was the anchor of the program. He introduced the speakers and requested the audience to contribute for the Zakat fund in this pious month. Tariq Siddiqui, President AMUOBA gave the welcome speech and shared the activity calendar of AMUOBA. Vote of thanks was given by Arif Durrani from Heal India.
